Recycle at Boots

Recycle at Boots is an innovative app designed to streamline the recycling of hard-to-recycle beauty, health, and wellness product packaging. It focuses on items that are often excluded from standard kerbside recycling schemes, such as travel-sized products, composite materials, blister packs, and non-recyclable materials like toothpaste tubes or floss dispensers. By using Scan2Recycle technology, this app ensures these materials are diverted away from landfills and repurposed into new products.

The platform allows users to upload and categorize images of eligible recyclable items through their account. Once verified, these items can be deposited at participating stores via designated recycling points. To participate, a minimum of five qualifying items is required for each deposit. Members of the Boots Advantage Card program are rewarded with points for their recycling efforts, adding an incentive to reduce environmental waste while earning rewards.

All deposited items are processed by a recycling partner in the UK. Recovered materials are transformed into items such as street furniture, shop fittings, and innovative products like MYboard, a sustainable alternative to wooden plyboards. This process guarantees full traceability, ensuring no recyclable material contributes to ocean pollution, landfill, or incineration.

Since its launch, Recycle at Boots has successfully recovered over 145 tonnes of plastic, preventing millions of products from contributing to environmental pollution. By engaging with the app, you can contribute to a sustainable future while being rewarded for actively making eco-friendly choices.
